Description
Uruli or varpu fuses art and function in the uniquely shaped, mostly one to two feet in diameter bell-metal vessels used for cooking ‘payasam’ and as decoratives. Its hand production involves many fascinating and intricate processes from making of the inner and outermost moulds in special clays, wax runners for inflow of molten metal, firing etc. The result: the stunning bell metal urulis decorating urbanscapes, kitchens and temples.
